Punjab Inter Second Annual (Supplementary) Exam 2026: Dates, Fees and Who Can Apply
Published · Updated · Punjab boards, HSSC Second Annual 2026
Punjab’s boards have opened admissions for the HSSC (Inter) Second Annual Examination 2026 — the supplementary exam that lets a student clear a failed paper or improve marks without repeating the whole year. Exams start on 3 November 2026. Here are the dates, who can apply, and one important point about who this session is not for.
Read this first — who this exam is for:
- Yes: 12th class (HSSC Part-II) 2026 students who failed a paper or want to improve, and older/backlog candidates with papers still to clear.
- Not yet: the fresh 2026 11th class (Part-I) batch. Your annual result came on 22 October 2026 — after these fee deadlines — so this November session cannot include you. Your own second-annual window has not been announced.

Who Can Apply
The second annual (also called the supplementary or “special” exam) is a second chance in the same academic year. For the November 2026 session, the people it serves are:
- 12th class (HSSC Part-II) 2026 candidates who failed one or more subjects. You re-sit only those subjects.
- Candidates who want to improve their marks. One attempt as a private candidate, usually within two years of passing.
- Previous-year and backlog candidates who still have papers to clear from an earlier exam.
The Failed-Paper Rule: You Don’t Repeat the Year
This is the part most students worry about. If you failed one subject, you do not repeat the whole year. In the second annual you reappear only in the subject(s) you failed. The papers you already passed carry forward at the marks you earned — you do not re-sit them, and those marks do not change. Clear the failed paper and your full result is completed with your original passes intact.
What It Costs
There is no single fee. The amount depends on your board, your group (science or arts), and whether you are a regular or private candidate. The one rule that always holds: apply in the single-fee window (until 6 October) to pay the least — the double and triple windows add a late surcharge. Check the exact fee on your own board’s admission portal before submitting the form.
If You’re a 2026 11th Class Student, This Isn’t Your Exam — Yet
It is worth being clear, because some notices loosely mention “Part-I”. Those are backlog Part-I candidates from earlier years, not the current batch. The fresh 2026 11th class result was declared on 22 October 2026 — after even the triple-fee deadline of 17 October — and you cannot apply for a supplementary exam before your annual result exists. If you failed or missed a paper in the 22 October result, your second-annual exam will be a later, separate window that the boards have not announced yet. We will update this page when that date is set.
In the meantime, if a mark in your 22 October result looks wrong, your first step is rechecking, not the supplementary — see our 11th class rechecking guide. And remember the new 40% pass mark and A++ to U grading apply to your 11th class result.
How to Apply
- Open your board’s admission portal. Look for “Admission Inter 2nd Annual 2026” (regular or private) on your board’s website.
- Enter your roll number and details from your last result, and select only the subject(s) you are re-sitting.
- Pay in the single-fee window (until 6 October) to avoid the late surcharge. Keep the challan and confirmation.
- Download the admission form / roll number slip and watch your board’s site for the subject-wise date sheet before 3 November.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Punjab Inter Second Annual Exam 2026?
The HSSC (Inter) Second Annual / supplementary exams for Punjab boards begin on 3 November 2026. The admission windows were: single fee until 6 October 2026, double fee 7–13 October, and triple fee 14–17 October. The result is expected around January 2027.
Who can apply for the second annual exam?
It is for 12th class (HSSC Part-II) 2026 candidates who failed one or more papers or want to improve their marks, and for previous-year and backlog candidates who still have papers to clear. You reappear only in the subjects you failed — your passed papers carry forward.
Can current 2026 11th class students apply by 6 October?
No. The fresh 2026 11th class (HSSC Part-I) annual result was declared on 22 October 2026 — after the fee deadlines and only days before these exams start on 3 November. You could not enter a supplementary exam for a result that had not been declared. A separate second-annual window for the 2026 11th class has not been announced.
Do I have to repeat the whole year if I failed one subject?
No. In the second annual you reappear only in the subject or subjects you failed. The papers you already passed stay at the marks you earned and are not re-taken. This is why the supplementary exam exists — to clear a single paper without losing the year.
What is the fee for the second annual exam 2026?
The fee varies by board, group (science/arts), and whether you are a regular or private candidate, so there is no single figure. Check the exact amount on your own board’s admission portal. Applying in the single-fee window (until 6 October) is the cheapest; the double and triple windows cost more.
Can I appear to improve my marks?
Yes. Improvement-of-marks candidates are eligible for one attempt as a private candidate, normally within two years of passing, in the same subjects and group. Your higher result stands. Confirm the exact rule with your board before applying.
Does the new 40% pass mark apply to this exam?
The new 40% pass mark and A++ to U grading apply first to 11th class (HSSC-I) from 2026. Most second-annual candidates are 12th class (HSSC-II) and continue under the grading in force for their cohort. Check the rules printed on your own board’s notification and result card.

BISE Lahore admission system (“Admission Inter 2nd Ann 2026”, live at ) confirms the session is open; the fee windows and 3 November start are as announced by the Punjab boards and reported by ProPakistani and Bloom Pakistan (25 September 2026), citing individual board notices. We could not open every board’s official PDF, so confirm the exact dates and fee on your own board’s site before paying. The January 2027 result date is tentative. Fee amounts vary by board and are not listed here. “Part-I” in some board notices refers to backlog candidates, not the fresh 2026 11th class.
